President and CEO, Chairman of
the Board
Ron founded Myfinancialadvice, Inc., in 2001. The concept for the
company is based on his 17 years of experience within the retail
financial services and Internet industries and his vision for bringing
professional, unbiased and affordable financial advice to the
underserved middle-income market. He began his career as a financial
advisor at Dean Witter Reynolds and his family's discount brokerage,
which was one of the first companies to combine "do-it-yourself"
financial services with personal advice and later acquired by
Mercantile Bankshares. Ron also held senior marketing and management
positions at Wall Street on Demand, SmartPoint, MatchLogic, Excite@Home
and Carton Donofrio Interactive where he developed leading-edge,
Internet-based financial tools and marketing programs for mainstream
consumers for organizations that included Charles Schwab, Fidelity, TD
Waterhouse, Bank One and Intuit. Ron earned his bachelor of science
degree in marketing from Ithaca College.
Executive Vice President,
Advisor Services
Kevin is a recognized leader in the financial advisory industry with
more than 20 years of financial planning experience. He has been a
Certified Financial Planner licensee since 1987. Kevin was the founder
and president of Baltimore-Washington Financial Advisors, Inc.;
director of Broker Dealer Services for Hibbard Brown & Company,
Inc.; and president of Condon-Reid & Associates, Inc. and
Petroleum Land Data, Inc., which brokered land and exploration data for
major and large independent oil and gas exploration companies. He also
served as vice president of the National Capital Chapter of the
International Association of Financial Planners; president of the
Maryland Chapter of ICFP, which subsequently formed the Financial
Planning Association; vice president of the Northeast Regional Board of
the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors; and board
member of the Maryland Financial Planners Association. Kevin has been
listed in Worth Magazine's Top 250 Best Financial Advisors for five
years and is a popular regional and national conference speaker and
author. He earned a bachelor's degree in liberal arts and master's and
Ph.D. degrees in geography from the University of Kansas.
Vice President, Marketing
& Account Services
Grant is responsible for Myfinancialadvice's marketing and business
development efforts and is involved with all strategic funding efforts.
An 18-year veteran of Silicon Valley software and Internet services
firms, he held executive marketing positions with Iverson Financial
Systems, which was acquired by Capco; Quote.com, which was acquired by
Lycos; iVendor and others. He provided marketing and strategic
consulting services to firms that included AOL, DirectAdvice, WebTV,
Thomson Financial, Apple, Netscape, and Palm Computing. Grant holds a
bachelor of arts from Yale University and an MBA from Northwestern
University.
Chief Technology Officer
Chris has more than 15 years of business and technology experience
integrating systems for a wide variety of industries. He is also
president of Business Intelligence Force, Inc. (Bi4ce), a database and
software engineering company that provides information technology
services for organizations worldwide, including American Express,
Zurich Insurance, the National Security Agency, Unilever, The World
Bank and Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Lab. Chris began his
career with ADP, Inc., and was responsible for business accounting
integration, implementing small and medium-sized business financial
systems. Chris earned his bachelor of science degree in computer
science from Randolph-Macon College.
Manager of Community Relations
Jake oversees advisor training
and recruitment, and is responsible for the design and delivery of
MFA's Board-Registered advisor education programs. Working closely with
the product development team, Jake directs the service integration
process for corporate clients participating in our Employer Pre-Paid
Advice programs. He also designs the advice packages delivered by CFP
professionals as part of these programs. Prior to joining
Myfinancialadvice, Jake worked for several start ups and web based
companies. Most recently, he was the Annotation Supervisor
for Umbria, Inc. (Now a part of J. D. Power and Associates).
Before this position he was a part of product development and
operations for the Integral Institute. He has worked with a
number of industry leaders, namely Aequus Wealth management and
WorthLiving, LLC. Jake graduated from the College of Wooster
with a bachelors degree in psychology with an emphasis in the
psychology of money.
Board of Advisors
Roy Ramthun is a nationally recognized expert on health savings
accounts (HSAs). Currently the president of HSA Consulting Services,
LLC, a health care consulting practice specializing in Health Savings
Accounts and consumer-driven health care issues, he was previously a
Special Assistant to the President for Economic Policy at the White
House where he served as the senior health policy advisor to President
George W. Bush. Mr. Ramthun also served as the Senior Advisor to the
Secretary of the U.S. Treasury for health initiatives and led
Treasury's implementation of health savings accounts after they were
enacted into law in December, 2003. Previously, he held a variety of
positions at Humana Inc. and was a health care analyst with the U.S.
Senate Committee on Finance. Mr. Ramthun holds a bachelor of science
degree in biochemistry from the University of Michigan and a master of
science degree in public health from the University of North Carolina
at Chapel Hill.

Steve has substantial and highly successful background in strategic and
financial planning, benefits outsourcing and human resources, private
equity and debt capital transactions and acquisitions. As the CEO and
president of Schaefer & Associates, a Maryland-based consulting
firm, he specializes in corporate advisor services for small and
mid-sized companies. Under his leadership from 1997 to 2003,
RewardsPlus Investment Corporations was transformed from a low-margin
worksite marketing firm to a high-margin benefit administration
outsourcer. In addition to directing all aspects of the company, he
also oversaw global employer accounts that included Fortune 500
companies such as AT&T, Comcast. MGM, Georgia Pacific, Altria,
Lucent, Northrop Grumman and Unilever. Previously, in addition to his
other responsibilities as the chief financial officer and corporate
treasurer of FiberTech Medical Group, Steve also prepared the company
for its sale to General Medical. Earlier in his career, he worked for
the accounting firms of Meehan & Roby and Laventhol and Horwath
and Mercantile-Safe Deposit & Trust Company. Steve serves on
the boards of directors of CryMed Technologies, Inc. and Chesapeake
Property Acquisitions, LLC. A Certified Public Accountant, he earned
his bachelor of science degree in accounting and finance from Drexel
University in Philadelphia.

Tom is a leading expert on the impact of financial advice and education
on employee attitude and behavior. A renowned personal finance author
of more than 30 books and 200 articles, researcher and university
professor, Tom is also a fellow and distinguished professor
emeritus of Virginia Tech University, where he directed the National
Institute for Personal Finance Employee Education. Based on his
research, Tom recommends that employers provide their employees with
access to financial advice and education. His studies have shown that
increasing employees' financial well being positively affects their job
productivity, attendance, satisfaction and participation in corporate
retirement plans. Tom has served on the boards of many consumer credit
counseling organizations and has advised government agencies, private
foundations and international corporations. He earned his doctorate in
economic education from Texas Tech University and his MBA and bachelor
of arts degrees in Business Administration from the University of
Denver.

John is a managing director with BISYS Regulatory Services and heads
its Washington, DC office. He is a consultant to all segments of the
financial services industry, including major broker-dealers across the
country. During his 30-year career as a regulator with the National
Association of Securities Dealers, John became the top-level executive
in charge of all NASD regulatory and enforcement functions. He provides
Myfinancialadvice with critical insight and advice regarding the legal
and compliance issues involved with providing financial advice online.

Dick Wagner has been a major thought leader in the
financial planning profession since moving away from the practice of
law in
1982. A principal in Sharkey, Howes, Wagner & Javer,
Inc. from 1990
through 2000 and its predecessor firm Wagner/Howes Financial, Wagner
began
WorthLiving LLC with the mission of focusing on relationships between
humans
and money. He was on the Board of Directors of the Rocky
Mountain Chapter
of the International Association of Financial Planning from 1984 to
1988
including service as President and Chairman of the Board. In
1989 he was
appointed to the National Committee of the Institute of Certified
Financial
Planners and continued to serve as both President of that organization
in
1993. In 1989, Wagner wrote a seminal piece for the Journal
of Financial
Planning entitled “To
Think…Like a CFP”
that remains a leading aspirational expression of the
financial planning profession and its importance to the modern
world. He
has been a regular contributor to Financial Advisor Magazine for over
ten
years. Wagner and George Kinder, CFP® co-founded the
Nazrudin
Project. The Nazrudin Project has been a leading contributor
to the
intellectual and values development of the financial planning
profession.
Wagner’s service was recognized by his peers in 2003 when he
